Over the last week I have been very busy, this due to many local PC user's with Yahoo E-mail accounts hit with ransomware.

I think they are attacking Yahoo accounts only.

This ransomware will pop up on the screen and tell you that you have a virus, it will also disable your mouse and keyboard, this makes some call the phone number on the popup, this is a bad idea as they will want a credit card number to help fix the problem, and it may cost you up to $250.

If you have a Yahoo E-mail account and have NOT been hit by this yet, then I highly suggest you down load a program called "Super Anti Spyware" (it's free) and run a full scan, and I would do so in safe mode.

Not all AV programs will detect this type of ransomware, and I highly suggest you run a spy sweep daily if you check your Yahoo E-mail account everyday.

Now if this virus message pops up the first thing to do is hold the power button down for about ten seconds and re start the computer in safe mode and run a full spy sweep and malware scan, if you do not know how to do this then contact your local PC tech and have them do the job.

And another one:

Just finished a spy seep scan on a PC that had video driver update troubles, the customer tried to update his Nvida Geforce video card, he is running W10, once done the computer said that the new driver was not windows compatible for that OS.

And it had problems with the video when running games.

So after a restart in safe mode and a deep Spy scan it found a root kit attached to one of the video drivers (don't remember what one) I removed it and restarted the PC, all was well.

So Kids someone is attacking our stuff with root kits, I would seriously do some deep scans of your systems in safe mode, as this is the only way to actually scan and see stuff that is attached to a driver that would normally be running in normal mode.

Just a question ...
so I downloaded super anti spyware
I ran it on my computer and it clears 148 items ..... I shut my computer and went home
the next day I ran it again and it cleared 1432 items ?? and WTF !!

So right after it cleared them ,, I ran it again and it found another 132 items ??

I'm beginning to think these programs report items to make people buy the full program
or spyware is creeping into the computer even when I'm not online

before going home I put my computer on sleep mode .....

I think on boot up you tap F8 repeatedly until it takes you there... (May also depend on what version of Windows you have) Dont take my word for it...

Most setups you tap F8 just before it goes into Windows, if you tap F8 right at the beginning you will usually
get the Boot Menue option. It is just after that when you hit F8

Windows 10 won't boot into safe mode using F8. You need to to hold the shift button button while clicking retart and that will take you to safe mode...

Have an HP with win 7 pro and using a Logitech wireless key board and can't get into safe mode no matter what I try. I ran this spyware program and it came up with 13 errors. I'm thinking there has to be more cause my PC is running slower than crap and locks up on me constantly...any suggestions?

Try a scan with Malwarebytes, or Spybot Search & Destroy, and Rkill will stop any process so your
Antivirus, or spyware scanner can handle it

Any chance you can get a wired (PS2) Keyboard, and get your HP into safe mode, by tapping F8 OR F11 ??
As soon as it starts up, cause if you have BUG-WARE on it, that is about the only way to get a Handle on it
Another one you could try is TSKiller, or HitmanPro, (Rkill) will stop any process that looks suspicous etc.

As Auggie mentioned I would try the wired keyboard first, (disconnect the wireless one first) then tap the F8 key when it first starts up, keep taping till it comes up in safe mode.

Also try downloading a program called CCleaner it will scrub your registry and get id of any junk that may be cluttering it up, a cluttered or scrambled up registry can slow things down quit a bit.

Also when you do the scans in safe mode be sure to select a root kit scan, this may take a while so let it run and go do something, one I did took 12 hours as the computer had quite a few files on it.
