Simple truckers math, my truck with it's current load is XXX tall, (you must know this or it's not your truck) the bridge is posting that is is YYY tall, YYY minus XXX equals Plus XX, then you take a different rout.

Or in short, If the bridge sign says its 13 feet 6 inches and your at 14 feet then it is obvious.

Or if you can't understand or read the signs telling you how tall the approaching bridge is then you should not be driving a truck.
