I'm having nothing but problems with the t5 and it gets so hot it will almost burn you, so I'm going to install a sw44.
I can't search for some reason, does anyone have a install guide for the sw44

what type lnbs do you have?

Unless you have all legacy type LNB's an SW44 switch will not work with any new style DP type LNB's.
And as Nobodyspecial asked we need to know what type of LNB's you have and how many of each type.
If you have just one single LNB looking at one satellite, two single LNB's looking at two satellites (91/82 or 110/119) or what is called a DP twin LNB for two satellites then you don't need a power inserter.
You would only need the extra DC power if you have one of the triple LNB's for 110/119/129 called a DP1000, or a DP1000 plus with 118 added, tghen you would need a DC power inserter.
If this is the case then the DP44 power inserter is the only one that wiill work for that type of LNB (DP1000) and it MUST be run out to the LNB on it's own cox to the #1 port on the LNB.
And DO NOT connect a receiver to the DP power inserter's receiver port it will severely affect the receiver.

It's' a dish 500 with a twin legacy lnb.
Seems that there is no way the stb can run as hot as it gets and it's very buggy so I ordered a jynxbox and am gonna throw the t5 in the closet till a new bin comes out. I've had this thing a month and had a few channels that it would descramble now that has stopped, cant login to my server it says.
So would I need the power inserter with the jynxbox or will it power the dish without any problems
Thanks

use a laptop cooler under the dreamlink to keep it cool or a fan with to blow on it

If it's a standard DP twin LNB without a second external LNB attached then you do not need a DC power inserter.
Any standard FTA receiver will run two LNB's of any type without problems as most will supply 450 to 500 mA of DC power.
A DP twin LNB needs about 300 mA to run.
If the receiver is running hot the do like Country said and use a laptop cooler to keep it cool.
