The mega-fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather is inching closer to reality.
The Irish Sun reports the Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight champion and the five-division world boxing champion have agreed to financial terms for a bout.
A deal has not been formally signed, though, because of "a third-party hold up," presumed to be from the UFC.
Though McGregor doesn't have any fights scheduled on the docket, UFC president Dana White revealed last week that he has four fights remaining on his current contract. Because of the uncertainty surrounding the McGregor situation, the UFC 209 bout between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov is now scheduled for interim lightweight title.
The report says that McGregor, 28, will be travelling to Las Vegas this week to film an anti-bullying public service announcement as part of a deal struck with the Nevada Sport Commission after attempting to hit Nate Diaz with a water bottle at a press conference ahead of UFC 196 last march. The Dublin native was originally given a $150,000 fine for the incident.
Mayweather, 39, has not fought since a September 2015 unanimous decision victory over Andre Berto. After that fight, he declared that he was retired, finishing his career with a 49-0 record.

Cobra......funny I seem to recall something like this circus before. Doubt very seriously if PBF would get in the ring with McGregor.

Yeah my friend it is THAT ridiculous....................but it would sell and sell big and in the meantime there would be a ton of money made to promote something that most likely would never happen.
PBF has a big camp.....McGregor has a big camp. Toss in the curiosity viewers of MMA vs Boxer and it`s like printing money. The fight itself much like Pac vs PBF would simply be an end to their means of making a big payday for all those involved.

Totally agree ,,, can you say "cash grab" !!!!

Realistically though ,, McCheesberger can't beat Mayweather,,,, just can't happen !

It's like a Nascar driver winning an F1 race, driving an F1 car .... just can't happen
they are both talented drivers but the experience isn't there to switch talents

Also ,, let's face it,, the UFC fighters records don't really showcase wins and losses
because in my mind a win from a submission is not a fight win!

I've said this before (not sure if I said it in this forum)
Lets take a look at McCheeseburgers last fight against Alvarez ...

If Alvarez is the Champ!! The BEST in that division ,,,, what does it say about the No 1 contender ??
What does it say about the No 2 contender?

The no 3 contender ??

If Alvarez is the best that division has to offer and McCheeseburger slapped him around in the first
round and then kicked his A S S in the second ......

Well,, then McCheeseburger wouldn't need his hands to fight the No 3 contender in that division,, he
would slap him around with his penis only !!!!

I'm not sold on UFC fighters ............

Boxing is totally different buds,,,, a boxer needs talent to cut the ring diagonally into 4 corners

NO WAY ,, does McN'Cheese beat Mayweather

Well if they are boxing, in a boxing ring following the rules of boxing.........PBF would make McGregor look like a clumsy fool. Ringmanship is an art that takes years of fighting to develop and like him or not even PBF`s worst detractors would have to admit he owns a boxing ring.
