just to up date my self in theses times what are the known boxes that are still out there to get that work for iks still...
i mean the newer ones
with less issues of course.....
and that do it all in the box no need for the dongle or goo router.
oh and do eny get the full bev guide...........last when i had the nfusion hd it only got 2 hours of guide
i know there is 3 different dream link boxes.....witch is the better
i remember reading about the jynks box i think....hows that....
thanks for your time........just wanting to stay in the loop and as well im sure im not the only one wanting to know
good thread I am eager to see the reply's myself as to witch people like the most
I myself still have a lime sat ultra and it works well for guide 7 days on sd channels but sometimes can be a prick to get server to connect
i have been looking for a hd box but i don't watch tv a lot so have been watching what others say

I use the Dreamlink T5. I like it a lot. I use two of them. It only give about 2 hours. I think you can get more but I'm still trying to figure it out.

Just figured out how to get more than 2 hours on Bev. Turn to channel 1199 (199) and leave it there for about 30 seconds. Only thing is once you turn off the receiver you need to go back and do it again when you start watching tv again.

I used to always get more than a couple of hours ,usually a couple of days
open up guide and hit the yellow button for dish, blue for bev leave it for a couple of minutes

Yes I agree with buying from Patriot. I purchased my second one online for a hundred bucks a few years ago

DreamBox 500-S - about 10 years old and still going strong - only gets the standard def channels but is rock solid - pretty cheap investment to get a sh*t load of channels.
If you insist on hi def then I think DreamLink 4/5 can't be beat but then you're looking at an additional $150 bucks or so investment

You know, lots of issues could be easier if we started a project to use some of the low-cost modules in ways other than in the boxes they are designed for--a $20 jb200 module interfaced to something that does usb interface (or maybe retro-fit to freesat $30 box) and you get 7 day EPG and maybe don't have to buy a $200 box.

when scanning 91 or 82...is there s certain tp it should be on?
think the skew was off adjusted 91 is okay but few channels on 82 keep going signal loss

no ,you just scan.
You can check your tp quality by going into manual scan and scrolling through the frequencies

The sv8000's are good. Mine has been around since March 2007. Gotta keep them cool with a laptop cooler or fan though. I bought a T5 off of kijiji recently and I think it a better receiver than the sv8000.

T5 all the way! But.. Not able to fast forward ( image sound not the same after.. ) just skip.. Only negative thing! :)

Great idea - wish I had the skills to help with something like that
