Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Eddie Lack was crashed into and seriously injured by a Detroit player on a game ending goal. Both teams remained on the ice as he was tended to and stretchered off the ice, even though the game was over and some fans were clearing out. This just happened so there isn't much detail on the severity of his injury, but he did give the crowd a thumbs up from the stretcher. Under such unfortunate circumstances, I thought this moment was quite something. Classy move by everyone involved. Get better Eddie!

The media highlights and writes their stories about all the isolated horrors and mishaps in sports.....they seldom highlight the respect and brotherhood the players with very few exceptions have for each other and the game. Nice to see that Lack wasn`t seriously injured as well.
Yeah, I didn't watch that game last night but I saw the highlights this morning on TSN SC ,, Awesome !!

Which round?? LOL............exactly what I was talking about. Media can say what they want and give you their spin.....but the players know. too many rules (instigator) and too many interest groups have pretty much eliminated the fighting which is a big part of the game in days gone by. Nowadays the influx of so many teams bringing in so many players that don`t belong in the nhl gives way to all the cheap head shots etc that plague the NHL far more than 2 guys going toe to toe and tapping each other for a job well done and going out for a beer after it`s over.
