Hi folks:

I just joined. Hope someone can help me. I have a Dreamlink T5 hooked up to a 1000.4 dish pointed at 110,119 and 129 on the western arc. I want to change to the eastern arc. What would my settings be in my T5 for 61, 72 and 77. Thanks.

yes, I will shortly. My present subscription will be up in a few weeks. It is on the western arc. Here in the Michigan area both arcs are used. It would be better for me reception wise to migrate to the eastern arc

I have the new lnb's for EA. I also know my dish needs to be re-aligned. What I need now is what do I have to do with my T5. Will the change be just a deletion of the WA sats and an a download of the channels on the EA.

Stay with the Western Arc. Unless you have a paid sub, you will not be able to get the Eastern Arc. The Eastern Arc disappeared from IKS servers a couple of years ago.

I think...NO! You might find the sats but you won't get any working channels unless you are a Dish subscriber or have access to a working Dish card. Those sat positions are hard to find in most areas and so the IKS "services" dropped them a couple of years ago. There are other technical reasons which you can do a search for if you really want to know why.

sorry for my tardiness in replying.....I was away from home. There is a server provided by TECHfta for the EA. My dish will accomadate the new LNB's for the EA. I went on Dish Pointer and I have the info to re-align my dish for my location. What I don't know is what if anything I have to do to my T5. Will the present software work and is there a change I have to make for each sat in order to download the channels. The EA view from my home is great as it is high in the sky. 129 on the WA is have the angle lower.

the 129 sat is 20 degrees versus 72 at more than double the degrees.

I have the 1000.4 dish. 110 and 119 are coming in between 80 and 95%. Because 129 is so low in the sky, it comes in between 60 and 70%. All the channels on 129 are on 72. So I thought of switching to EA which should come in at 85 to 95%. If I had a dish pointed only at 129, I could bring it in at least 80%. I don't want my house to look like a radio station with so many antennae. My concern now is how do I set up my T5 for the EA.

well if your going to do this then find out what you get for channels you can view , no files will be needed just do a factory reset then set up the sats and scan . try this setup
Dish 1000.4(Eastern Arc)
DPP LNBF
This LNB is the same as the Dish 1000.2 LNBF but for sats at 61.5W, 72.7W, & 77.0W
(hence the larger space between 61.5W and 72.7W/77.0W. When setting up to FTA
STBs typical a DPP44 switch is used with the following Antenna settings:
Port 1---77.0W, OSC-DP(type LNB), TP12224, DiSEqC set to Port 1
Port 2---72.7W, OSC-DP(type LNB), TP12224, DiSEqC set to Port 2
Port 3---61.5W, OSC-DP(type LNB), TP12297, DiSEqC set to Port 3
Port 4---xx.xW, OSC-DP(type LNB), TPxxxxx, DiSEqC set to Port 4
This LNB is also a PowerHog and requires no FTA STB placed on the first output port
of the DPP44 switch(Sub STB or empty power insertor on port 1)only.

See, we learn something new every day! :) I would make sure before I switched that they still provide those sats.

Thank you so much for the info. You are correct about the lnb's being power hogs. I presently have lnb's for the WA and I supply power to them much like a Dish receiver would do. This same power supply will be used on the EA lnb's. I'm happy I don't have to make many changes to my T5. Sat 72 carries most of the channels and the dish will be aimed at 72 and skewed for 61 and 77. My main concern is great reception on 72. Anything else on 61 and 77 will be gravy. Again, thank you very much.
