I`d love to know where he did it........tried a few times off Peche Island when I was much younger and a strong swimmer....with a buddy`s dad`s fishing boat aside us and we couldn`t do it.

He`s got a shot here.......Peche Island resting and refreshing area LOL....back in the 60`s it was a big drinking spot for us Riverside guys...

swimming to the island from Canada was a piece of cake....................getting to the US was another thing but has been done a few times. Gotta make it to the canals in Grosse Pointe LOL cause the current will carry you over a mile west of the island.

Anywhere else they`d find him tangled up around the bridge footings in a couple mnths.

If I remember right he started out just east of downtown Windsor. I don't remember where he came ashore in Detroit, but he was arrested and charged for swimming in a shipping lane.

Yeah "just east" is kinda vague...I read that too. If he went in anywhere before say Jefferson I take my hat off to the idiot cause I wouldn`t try one way nevermind both. Can`t see how he`d make it...

Well I can`t find where he jumped in but it said he made it to the Ren Cen going to Detroit and they picked him up coming back down by the bridge which is about right for the current. Gotta figure he jumped in far east of Windsor....maybe Riverside.
