From what I googled it takes mxq version of Kodi 17.1. To work, just google" mxq kit kat 4.42 " to find out where to get it

You can't upgrade a box from 422 to a higher version

This is not entirely true. It depends on the box along with a few other factors and how much knowledge one has to be able to do it :)

delete kodi all together and get a fork of kodi either SPMC or FTMC they work alot better and can put on a build from ares wizard. put on the pulse build for jarvis awesome build or you can put on the ares wizard and just put on the addons you want.

I upgraded a Fire TV Box from 4.4.2 to 5.0 using ADB and the following method:

If you have an unlocked boot loader and a rooted device with a custom recovery, simply google custom roms for "your device name". You will find loads of roms built on Android 5.1 so just go ahead and download one.
You can also search all ROMs for your device on xda-developers.com. Just search by your device name and check for ROMs in Original Android Development tab.

Go ahead and download the zip file for any ROM of your choice and flash it using your custom recovery.

While in recovery, make sure that you wipe your old rom completely before installing the new ROM to avoid issues. To be precise you need to wipe only data, cache and dalvik cache.

Then you simply need to select install from the main menu and select your zip. Do not check zip file signature verification as it may cause errors. Once installed, simply reboot to system and enjoy your new ROM.
However do not forget to flash SUPER SU in case the ROM you installed is not prerooted or you may lose root access.

I've also recovered a "bricked" box with this method. Like I said, you need the proper files and the knowledge on how to do it. There is tons of info on the net on how to upgrade certain boxes, but it is easier if your device is already rooted.

Well, since you asked after my post, it sounded like you were responding to my post. We can't read your mind. Just download it (spmc) and install it.
