I was browsing the "Global media box" section and saw some of the new posts about this box, went to look at this box on the web (Searched with Google) and found their web site, when I opened it a warning popped up about a problem with windows, (ransomware) it popped up with a message that said I was to log into my router with a login screen that was asking for a user name and password for the router, and it would not let me close the screen or my browser....OOOpppps I hit the power off button and restarted in safe mode then did every scan I could for this problem, "Super Anti-Sypware" found a program that the others (Avast and Malwarebytes) did not, it was adware.(sorry don't have a program name for it, no scan log was created)
But the problem was not detected by any of the AV/Malware/Spyware or Ransomware software on this PC, it may be something new??????
WARNING do not go to the Global Media Box website unless your AV/Malware and Spyware definitions are up to date.

so, is it safe to go their web site or not?
besides, you don't need to go to their web site, you can order the box from elsewhere.
but, is this a good box compared to Dreamlink T1 and so forth?
Any input will be appreciated.

Don't know, but I'm not trying it again, not on this system that is.
And can't comment on the boxes, as I have no idea, I just wanted to look at the spec's for that box.

It could have been a redirect somehow, don't know it all happened so fast I could not see the screens, dang computers are getting too fast and too complicated, give me the old 4 switches, punch tape and neon glow lights any day of the week.
And I don't think it was a virus but some form of new adware and happened to trigger on that site URL, if your worried about it or want to go to that site (don't think it's the site) then download Super Antispyware, it's free, and may protect you, as it may have been a random thing.
