I would like to know, how do you set-up one disnPro dish to receive all three sats. I have sonicview 8000 and would like to scan all three birds for HD channels.

Setup the dish for your location ( see dishpointer.com) get a lock on 110 and 119/129 should come in by simply skewing the dish.

StanW, really don't know how to use the site. Perhaps I am on the wrong site(dishpointing)? also, I have my dishpro already set-up on 119/110.

I moved your thread here because I thought you needed help installing a dish I think you need help with you dish settings?
You need to have a lnb pointed at 129 too

Torpainter, are you telling me I would need an additonal dish for sat 129. No way to pick-up all three sats with the dishPro 500? Those sats 110/119/129

there are a lot of dish 500's If you have the one with the 129 lnb thats fine
You just set up 119 as diseq 1, 110 as diseq 2, 129 as diseq 3

A Dish 1000 and 1000.2 are made to pick up all 3 sats but they are 18x24 elliptical dishes. Find one of those and you're good to go...

I think we need to establish a few things here first,

Ocean......how many LNB's does your dish have, and are they singles or a Twin?

I have the twin model. It has two lnb together. I can I tell which model I have?

Ok, that LNB will only grab 2 sat's, either 110/119 or 119/129. Below is a pic on how the signals bounces off the dish to the LNB's. You need to go to a aiming site, enter your location and the sats you want to grab, and it will tell you how to aim your dish.

ok, point well taken. Is it possible to strap an additional lnd to the current twin lnb? If so, do you have pic how?

torpainter

you would be better adding another dish and pointing it at 129 and running it into a switch or getting a dish 1000.2

Yes you can, it is called a "poor mans dish" but can be VERY hard to set-up. Tor's idea might be better but if wanted to try it, all the power to ya.

If you have a Dish 500 (Dish Pro) now it won’t work, the Dish 500 only has 10 degrees of receive beamwidth, you need a Dish 1000.2, it has 20 degrees of receive beamwidth.

One draw back on the Dish 1000.2 is that it’s a power hog, if your receiver doesn’t put out more that 650 mA of DC current the triple LNB will be starved for power, you would then need a DPP44 switch and power supply, then things will be happy.

One draw back on using the DPP44 power supply with an FTA receiver is that most are non-compatible with it, you have to run a coax from the power supply to port 1 of the LNB and have nothing hooked to the input of the supply, then your receiver will run fine on port 2 of the LNB, you need 2 coaxes in this setup, one to the power supply and one to the receiver.

If you want all three birds you need the 1000.2 as stated it looks like this
http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/Dishnetwork/Dishes/Dish-13.jpg

If you use a dp500 you need to dishes...the dp500 for 110/119 and another dish with a single lnb for 129. If you use two dishes you will have to use a switch to combine to two dishes...if you use the 1000 it will support up to 3 recievers with out a switch.

One thing Speed, that LNB will not fit the D500 arm, the plastic spacer for that LNB is not setup for that dish arm, you need the whole D1000.2 setup.

(clarification for others)

That's what I meant he would need the 1000.2 dish sorry I didnt clarify it...normally if you buy that lnb you got to buy the dish i dont think its sold separately...

Wow, didn't think that dish was that limited, could you do it with a Dish500-PLUS and alot of tweaking or is it the same dish?

Yes you can use the Dp500+ a Dp500+ comes with a bracket for 129 but it doesn't come with the single lnb. If he has a dp500+ he should have a Mounting Bracket for optional 129 LNB. The Dp500+ comes with the optional bracket but no lnb... The upgrade would be the 1000+ . To answer your question Maverick the dp500+ and 1000+ is the same dish. The 1000.2 is coompletely different. Instead of having the 118/119 on one lnb it's separate.

For the 1000.2 you have to run 3 coaxes from the DPP44 to the LNB. The power supply gets connected to Port 1 of the switch and a FTA receiver cannot be connected to this port. You can connect the FTA receiver to port 2 of the switch.
Wufman has a wiring diagram showing the 1000.2 with DPP44 at post 4 third pic from the left here http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?t=1161

Yeah, I think he ment to say....... "coax from the power supply to port 1 of the switch" & "then your receiver will run fine on port 2 of the switch"
