If using an android box with STB Emu, you can surely replicate the setup on multiple boxes (same MAC, same serial) and be able to use it on multiple boxes. However as you mentioned, NOT at the same...

Thanks emporium, but is the serial number critical and required? I read elsewhere suggesting to have it blank. Would it work without serial #?
Thanks

At one time some of the IPTV servers were checking the Serial number to make sure you were not cloning a box to try and cheat. I think they have new security features to prevent cloner cheating - so the serial number may not be important to them now. It depends on the server you are using - just ask your dealer and he/she should be able to let you know if serial number is used or not.

Most servers now marry the first stb to connect to it. A mac reset is required to transfer the server to another stb. I know of only one that you can do what hes trying to do and its channels are down alot.

I'm pretty new at this so I haven't tried many servers, but I know that on OK2, the serial is actually used. Not sure how it would react with a blank serial however.
From my experience, the server will marry the receiver's serial number to the MAC the first time it connects. And as Mr Hanky mentioned, unless you can clone the Serial number to another receiver, you will need to ask your seller to do a reset if you want to move your sub from one box to another (even if you have given them the same MAC). Now if you are using STB Emu, you can actually EDIT the serial that the EMU is transmitting, so you can clone it.
This is NOT meant to allow you to clone receivers to be able to use them simultaneously, but more of a convenience if you want to move your sub from one box to another. I have 2 main TVs in the house (1 in the basement, and one in the Living room). During school period, I use the one in the basement more often, since my teens are studying, and the TV in the living room would be a bother to them. However, during holiday seasons, I switch and use the living room TV more often. So like to move the sub to the TV I use most, without actually physically swapping my android boxes.

Yes they do, but I don't think you can change it on the physical boxes (but this may have changed on the newer boxes - I don't have any).

Absolutely, and for Android, considering it's flexibility, it also depends on what software you will use to access the service. Some have their own android APK apps (like OK2, and many others), and in other cases you can use STB Emu to emulate a MAG box.
Even with STBEmu, I am pretty sure that the back-ends (like Stalker/Ministra which is most common) have the option to be able to detect emulators. And those running it can choose various options on how to handle them.
