I received my Buzz XPL3000 today. I entered my iptv OK2 server info into SERVER1 and changed my MAC address to the same as my dreamlink T1 that works today, but my Buzz says Subscription expired or not activated, contact server provider. I switched back to the Dreamlink and OK2 works fine. Do I need to have to separate subscriptions? I thought this box would operate with same MAC as another box at the same time? When I was trying to setup my Buzz my Dreamlink was not connected to the internet even.

You're right - he said "When I was trying to setup my Buzz my Dreamlink was not connected to the internet even."

I had a similar problem when I tried to move my OK2 from my Beelink GT1 with STB Emu to my MiBox with STB Emu. I thought it was tied only to the MAC, but after some tinkering, I changed the Serial number to match the one that was initially listed on my GT1, and bingo, it worked.

So the MAC and the serial number needs to match (at least from my experience).

Does the Buzz 3000 allow you to change the MAC and Serial ?

Also, for those who have the Buzz 3000, is the MAC a serial a global setting for DOL, or is it per profile/service ?

Thnx

the serial number has nothing to do with the ok2 server

Hmm.. That's what I thought, since I know it needs a MAC, but it did make a difference. Then I thought maybe deviceID, but that is unchecked, and clearly part of the settings to NOT be sent.

Well, after your comment, I figured maybe it was just a coincidence and it was just because of time elapsed and something reset internally on the back-end... I just went and changed the last digit in my serial number from a 3 to a 2, and restarted STB Emu, and got the message that my STB is blocked.. I put it back to a 3, restarted STB Emu, and it works again...

So i suspect that the FIRST time a MAC connects, it also transmits the Serial as part of the stream and it is stored by the system. At least for STB Emu as far as I can tell. It may not be something you can see in the panel, but the backend definitely does something with it.

It's a simple enough test.. I was surprised also, but I'm just telling you the tests I did.. And I just made a change in just serial number (not touch MAC), and can reproduce it the STB blocked screen.

how do you change a serial number?

Have experienced the same issues ...it marries the first box that connects . You have to get a hold of your seller and get a mac reset, to switch to another box. Would also like to hear how you change a serial.

I have had the same experience - I think it all has to do with the problems all these guys were having with cheaters trying to clone boxes and get free service.

I know IPTVExpress checks for Serial number - or at least they used to.
I have tried changing MACs with OK2 and not always successful - so I don't think it is always as simple as changing the MAC. There may be some security built in there that some of these guys running the server don't even know about.

It may just be a simple thing in their configuration file to disable serial number checking - I don't know - I am only guessing - but changing MACs can create problems.

In 99.99% of the time when you run a server - you buy it off the shelf - it is not something you wrote - and the manuals you get with it are not all encompassing. In a lot of cases you are guessing at what all of the the tick boxes are doing when you change them.
There are so many different combination of settings that are available - so in a lot of cases it is trial and error until you get it right.

On STBEmu Pro, under Settings->Profiles->[YourProfile]->STB configuration, if you scroll down where you can change the MAC, right underneath is the Serial number. I was surprised that it is an editable field & can be changed, so I checked what my original box was, and then changed my replacement box to match the original serial number and bingo. Obviously, this doesn't mean you can use both boxes at the same time, but at least you don't need to gets your seller to do a reset if you change it from one box to another.

I suspect that when you set up an account for the first time, the seller attaches the MAC, but then once the MAC connects for the first time, it stores the serial number in it's DB as an additional security pairing feature. Which is fine and understandable if they want it that way to make it a little more difficult for the cheaters.. However, if they want to avoid forcing resets when people use boxes (which can't edit serial number) and want to move the service from one box to another, then they should maybe consider removing the forced binding. However that is a choice we need to respect from those running the server.

I don't have a buzz 3000, but wondering if the Buzz 3000 would allow you to modify the serial number it transmits in it's native IPTV app ?

Would be nice if OK2 offered some sort of "option/subscription" to allow multiple devices from same IP, instead of buying 1 full sub for each device.
