Hey,

if this is in the wrong section please excuse, I have been out of sat testing for a long time now. Stayed in for a bit once we could no longer use the b3v provider boxes and kept a few Dreamlinks, VS Ultra 2000's up and I think a CaptiveWorks for people but again, its been awhile as I was not impressed with the epg of any of the FTA boxes and things just died out.

Anywho, I am looking to get back into the swing of things and have some questions/ have been looking into things and am quite impressed with the Formuler dot tv line of products. I will be getting the z7+ for IPTV but I still have a need to have a coupe of devices on b3v as well due to poor middle of no where internet speeds.

My question - Is it going to be as simple as purchasing this box (Formuler S Turbo) and getting a sub to an IKS and inputting the info, configuring the LNB settings on the box, connecting it to the net etc and then good to go? Or are we still in the times were I will need a modded bin file for the box itself? I am asking as I cannot find really information surrounding this specific box.

Please let me know. Or if anyone has any recommendations for what the best box to get would be do let me know as well. I am essentially looking for a box that operates fast, has HD and PVR, and a great UI/UX and EPG similar to what you would see when using a provider STB.

Thanks :)

Do you still have your DreamLink receivers? If it is a T4 or T5 then you should be good to go for IKS.

Thanks for the reply :) - I'm sure I still have it kicking around somewhere I will have to take a dig through the storage where I don't remember what model it is. I'm pretty sure its not an HD model.

Any recommendations for a reputable retailer to pick up a T5 with the 8psk pre installed that will for sure not be a clone?

Cheers,

+1 for the Formuler z7+.

EPG does have a small (not a deal breaker) lag updating, but there's two ways to view channels.

Hit EPG button to get the nice pretty interface (slower to update), but you can always hit <- to get the less fancy (but faster) interface.

Sadly no, never looked too much further into it. I'm using a Formuler Z8 for OTT IPTV. Would be great if someone knew more about the Formuler SAT boxes though (Dreamlinks parent company). Or point me in the direction of what is the latest for sat testing. (IKS, Where to send a provider box for MOD, something else?). Then again its been a year+ since I've poked around here to see if there are answers to that :)
