Watching IPTV using a Kodi Add On

I am interested in people's experiences viewing live iptv streams using a Kodi Add On. USA IPTV offers this approach but how does that compare to other viewing formats such as STB?

It works well using kodi 18-alpha. They have worked on better pvr support. It works awful using kodi 17.6. If you are setting up kodi in windows, nextpvr works well as a backend after you config it properly. Also, some IPTV services work better than others. Vaders works great ,but Eternal is a mess.

Some good PVR friendly skins are Aeon Nox - Silvo(Modded Skin), Aeon Nox, Rapier, and Omni.

Kodi is good if you don't care about VOD or adult channels or EPG guide. Though some servers do offer EPG for kodi.

It all depends on the service. With vaders kodi addon, everything works. Kodi grabs all their VOD's, and then you setup a moviedb tvshowdb scraper to grab all the info. Never use kodi 17.6 for IPTV. it is too buggy.

Thanks for the excellent advice. A friend of mine travels and wants to have iptv on his tablet. This info will be most helpful.
