I got a brand new 2018 version of BuzzTV XPL3000. It has the lastest build V002S901_20180509. Kernel 3.13.29. Android 7.1.2 Security Patch level 1 August 2017.
I have found that after being in sleep mode for about 1 hour, when it wakes up, it is very sluggish. Any videos are jittery and unwatchable from Kodi (local network), IPTV, or any video app. It is connected through Ethernet. I normally have a speed test of 75 Mbps down which is the service I have, but after waking, it's between 10-15 Mbps.
I have tried wireless and same problem. I have tried clearing memory (rocket ship) and same problem. I have tried clearing caches and same problem. I have tried factory reset without installing additional apps and same problem.
Essentially it is unusable in this state. The only way to fix it is to reboot.
Anyone else experience this? or know how to fix it? Thanks

Is this the Kernel update from May 9?

since they pulled the Buzztv update (125 build) from May 19 yesterday, I was able to downgrade to 117.
Additionally, I have applied the lates OS build released yesterday / today that fixes the youtube issue.
I still have the same problem, so I don't think it's related to that update.

So I exchanged my 2018 Nougat editon for an older one running 6.0.1 and still have the same problems, so it is not device or OS version dependant.
I also noticed that sometimes I don’t even have to put it into sleep mode. Sometimes after watching IPTV For a few hours, it will start to slow down and get choppy. It’s not the IPTV service because even Kodi videos streamed over my lan are choppy. It seems to be somehow throttling my network as speedtests drop. However it is not the isp as traffic over the lan is also affected.
A quick reboot always resolves th issue. Easy fix but still a pain.
I’m surprised there aren’t more people experiencing this.

Bit of a memory leak going on and a rather sluggish ui when browsing apps but otherwise works as advertised .

I experienced this on my XPL2000 when I had it, the scrolling in the menu was never smooth

Likely do to the Ui overlay being unoptimised in favor of the tv app.
Minor issue and one that can be easily overlooked when the tv/epg works as good as it does.

Was wondering if there was ever a fix for this besides rebooting? Mine started doing it a week or so ago.
Not a biggie to reboot but just wondering......

Honestly, I've never had this issue. Do you have the unit overloaded with apps?

I actually never use apps. If the kid was playing with it, how would I look to see if any apps are running in the background?

Does it act sluggish using the Buzz app?

The whole thing is slow. When you go back to home menu, it is slow moving from icon to icon. Everything you do is slow motion...
Until you reboot, then all good.

Can you try installing a ram management app and set it up to boost ram at a very low threshold? Like when boost when ram usage reaches 25%
I'm not saying you absolutely need it but we are just trying something here.
Thanks

I ended up exchanging it for the non 2018 version running android 6 - Marshmellow. I also periodically activate the paintbrush icon to launch the rocketship and clear the memory which helps.

Well, the issue seems to have stopped. Swapped out the 7.1 box for a 6.0 box and no more slow motion. Its only been a couple days so Ill let it go for a bit and see if it fixed the issue.....

Hi , I just got a XPL3000 today and noticed right away the very choppy video... very unimpressed but playing around with the settings (in configuration), I changed the player from "default" to "internal" and it now works very well .
Not sure it helps you with your issue but thought I'd post this.
