I was watching in FOX SP1 a game from Russia. In the EPG the game was listed at 4:00 p.m., but as a matter of fact the game started at 2:00 p.m. so, I went to the settings and I shifted the EPG time by -2.00 hours. So far so good, the EPG listed the right information, but according to the EPG the duration of the program was 1 hour, and at 3:00 p.m. the EPG listed another program. Soccer matches last for 90 minutes and with the 15 minutes at half time and 15' after the game, the duration of the broadcasting should have been 2 hrs. Sure enough, at 3:00 p.m. the EPG listed another live program but the game was still on.

I have checked before the time in my device and it was OK. I rebooted the BUZZ 3000 box and it was still the same problem. So I do not what to do.

I checked with my IPTV provider and I even opened a support ticket with them, but they said the EPG was right.

Is it possible there is a software problem with the box?

Unfortunately the epg is based on the info put out by the various broadcasters and that's not always correct.

If the info coming in isn't correct then the epg is going to show the wrong info.

A perfect example is the SYFY HD channel which is presently listing resident evil apocalypse but is actually showing Merlin the tv series.
If you go to that providers tv listing on your computer/phone for what should be on it shows resident evil apocalypse.

h**ps://www.ontvtonight.com/guide/listings/channel/69030967/syfy-hdtv.html

It can only grab the info put out and if that's wrong its not the fault of the software.

This is why some channels show the wrong epg listings as the providers are just not updating things correctly on their end.

Its always a good idea to see if the channel listings are correct from the provider in the first place before assumeing its a software issue. :)

It's a known issue for some of these xpl3000 boxes. Setting the epg offset does not work properly for some channels and while most channels will be offset correctly, some won't. It doesn't seem to happen to all users but it does with quite a few, myself included. It's not a provider issue because the problem exists with all providers and can be verified by checking provider app epg.

That does happen but we can't go blaming the box/software for everything either since in many cases the info provided is incorrect in the first place.

Sadly its never going to be perfect but then again no epg ever is.

I understand what all of you are saying, regarding the info provided by the broadcasters, but I sent a message to the BUZZ site and they seem to believe there is an issue with the software because they asked me for the MAC address of my device and also for the time zone I am in. I believe that the info provided by the broadcaster changes on a daily basis, but today at noon the EPG for the TSN channels were listing at 2:00 p.m. something that was absolutely contradicting the information provided somewhere else, which also takes the information from the broadcasters. So how come that in one place the information provided by the broadcaster is right and in the EPG is wrong? When I turned on the device on TSN4 the EPG was listing the right information. Is it the provider that changes that? I may be wrong, but I believe it is not.

Incorrect info from the provider can throw things off but i believe you are correct that there is a bug likely with taking in all the times zones into account that's sometimes throwing things off.

For me it listed the correct info but for a friend in the states it was showing the wrong info.

There seems to be two separate issues going on and only the later is something they can address.
Why some channels never get updated info from the providers correctly is anyone's guess and out of the supports ability to fix.

It is a problem with the box/software though.... Alot of these boxes have this issue and the buzz folks are aware because I had a pretty extensive ticket with them a while back. Comparing the epg data from the buzztv box with epg data from provider apps as well as my formuler box, it's easy to show. Provider apps as well the formuler box show correct epg data while the buzztv box shows correct info for some channels but others have incorrect time offset meaning the correct data is there but not showing in the proper time slots. The thing is, this issue doesn't happen to all xpl3000 boxes. Possibly a different hardware revision or even some weird combinations of settings that trigger it but it is 100% not a provider issue. :) There is also an epg bug with these boxes where an hour long program that is in the current and next time slots only shows correct info for the current slot and a seemingly random entry for the next time slot.

I sent you a PM which I would like to repeat here because it can be useful to other people as well. Did they solve the problem you were having? How?, if they did.

Thanks.

I agree with you there a bug with the software but not every epg issue is because of the software.

There is more then just a software issue going on here and if we forget that they problems just going to continue on for longer then it should.
People need to check and see if the actually listings are correct from the providers themselves before adding to a already extensive bug report.
If people keep on reporting a bug where there isn't one in the epg and its just bad provider info they its just makes the job epg the coders that much harder because they have to wade through whats real and whats not.

If they have to look in places where the software was actually functioning correctly its just slows down the whole fix.

It doesn't take a person long to double check to see if the info wrong with a simple google search before posting and its going to make us all happier in the long run.

Oh I agree. Not every epg issue is a bug with with client software/firmware and I would even go so far as to say the majority of them are not. Corruption, user error and provider error would make up most of the issues, I would think. The issue I discribed above is definatly a bug though. I checked an double checked the info before even considering as such. Hopefully they will be able to work it out in future updates. I'm kinda picky over an accurate epg, may be too much so. :D

I would like to mention that before I told the manufacturer about this issue I opened a ticket with my IPTV provider, they checked and they told me everything was OK on their side. I did perform a double check before I even opened the ticket with my IPTV provider.

If I go on a channel that has certain epg info and I find it's incorrect, I just watch what's on or Google the channel and check it's guide. It's not even widespread so I don't complain about it because Magnus33 has provided some brilliant answers that very accurate.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I have given them all the info about the box and issue including screenshots showing the epg errors compared to my Formuler with MOL and provider apps which do indeed show correct info at the correct times. They can check the versions an revisions by referencing the mac and serials anyway. It's Android 7.1.2 btw. :)
