Just ordered the Buzz XPL 3000 (currently use stb emu and apk in android box) and have these questions:
I use 2 providers. One is Mac only and the other has Mac/M3U/apk. Should I choose Mac for the second provider or can it be M3U in the live tv app or apk downloaded from google play? What are the advantages of using MAC?
If I go with Mac, will both the buzz servers have the same MAC? Is it one mac per device or per server?
Ethernet or Wi-fi? Have both 2.4 and 5 GHZ bands and the router will be close to the box.
I use VPN as my ISP throttles during peak hours. Can I just download the VPN APK from android/google play?
Does the remote have IR extender or it has to be pointed directly at the device?
Will also be doing some recording (both from epg and manually). I will ask questions if i get stuck when trying to schedule the recordings.
Appreciate your help.

Will add an usb flash drive to use as internal storage. What should I format (FAT32 or NTS)? Where to format it - inside the buzz usb slot or in a laptop?

You can use either ethernet or wifi, doesn't matter since the unit will be close to router but if you want one less cable then wifi is the way to go. The buzz is also 5ghz compatible.
You can do your recordings both manually and from EPG.
You can also add your Gmail account to buzz and download your preferred VPN, bear in mind not all iptv services allow connection via VPN so make sure one of those two subscribers you have is OK2 IPTV.
Welcome to the buzz family

What about the usb drive formatting question? Is it FAT32 or NTFS? In Laptop or Buzz drive?
Also which player is recommended for recording - Default, Internal or Secondary?

I believe it's Fat32 and you can try default player. But don't let that stop from trying the other players, remember, what works for you may not work for me. Explore and enjoy your buzz unit bro

Tried both NTFS and Fat with and without "quick format". Still no luck.
Can you specify the exact item (microsd card or usb flash drive) that you all have for recording?

You will need a tool called mini partition wizard and select that drive , than delete the entire sector and than create a new NTFS drive and that should give you the entire 128g back minus boot sector files for the drive space . Just use a free version and that should solve that issue .

Yes. Thank you. I asked my colleague at work and he got it done for me this way last night. Now the usb flash drive is recognized by Buzz and I have scheduled 2 recordings. I will know in the evening if the recording happened or not.
I have setup the power key to "standby". So green light is always on in the box. TV is off. Is this the correct setup for scheduling recordings?
Do I need to double click the orange power button on buzz remote to switch it on when I want to use it?
Right now am using default player. Is it the best option to watch and record?
Any tips for a better Buzz experience is appreciated.

Put the NTSF/working flash drive into usb drive and it was recognized by buzztv. Scheduled 3 recordings last night for programs this morning.
Saw a tick mark next to the recordings when I switched now. But unable to play any of them. Why did the recording not happen?
I scheduled recordings from EPG and red button.
Appreciate responses.
Update:
I contacted buzztv support and was told to keep the "live tv" app on and not to go into home or standby mode. If i keep the livetv on for say 8 hours/night, what will be the apprpox data consumption? I have a 1TB monthly cap and have few other devices.

Got an update from BuzzTV support last night that many customers have requested for recording to happen without streaming. They are working to have the 'livetv" app on but without streaming so that recording can happen. ETA is 4-6 weeks.

we are aware that unit must be left on to record and yes it's on peoples wish list to be able to record from standby. It's too bad you didn't post all your info sooner, would have saved some grief
