ok2 server lag

for the past 2 weeks, i've noticed that the ok2 server is lagging big time in the evenings ~ after 8pm est. For example, it takes forever to scroll through channels, the EPG display would lag, and takes a long time to switch between sections.

Is anybody else experiencing this? Is the OK2 team doing server updates in the evenings? I am using STB EMU btw.

Did you install an update to STB Emulator recently? What is the version you have?

I did an update on that a few weeks back and it was horrible, had to take it off.

OK2 has been excellent as always

I have had the same issues in the evening.
I switch over to sky channels and they seem to work better.
I can switch over to a apk and have no lag at all.
I am getting New Fiber optic and then I will have the real test!

I went back to 1.1.2, funny enough there was another update and it was installed. Here is one solution that may just work for you, change the media player to ijk player. Exo seems to be giving issues

On the newer version's ijk is the default media player.

It takes a long time for the portal to code, and there's a long delay when switching between channels and EPG display is also delayed. Anybody else experiencing this?

Can this be reported to the OK2 team as it makes this sever unwatchable in the evening time.

This is STB Emulator issue and it has been happening to me this weekend. Here is the solution. Change player to auto.

I've been having this 'lag' issue for 2 days now. I've tried an nvidia shield with the ok2 apk, kodi, as well as a mag322 and formuler z7+ and all have this lag (switching channels is long, if I can even get the portals to load at all)... I've reset my router and tested my connection speed, ping and jitter, all very good, nothing changed on that end. Just letting everyone know my experience the past 48 hours

mine has been lagging also for the past couple of days, guide lags, takes a long time to switch, channels take a good few seconds to load, and a lot of channels are freezing.... very unpleasant...

Just tried the suggestion to switch the player to "AUTO" but no help. This is an OK2 issue it seems... please escalate it to the OK2 team.

once a channel is playing, it is usually fine. The problem arises when you first load up the portal and when using the TV guide.

I had a tough time with the APK tonight. First time ever though. It wouldn't update playlist and kept crashing. I finally loaded perfect player and m3u to see if there was an issue with the APK. It took about 6 try's to update playlist then finally went on perfect player. As of this time the APK is still not working for me. Never had any issues before. Possibly unrelated, but I feel like you're not alone with the challenge. I don't think it's a "server" issue as channels seem fine and working. I think there may be an issue with the APK and or perfect player though. Just some insight from my challenge.

I could not get the APK to work all evening (happened over the weekend also, and I just dismissed it as an issue with the mii box and the new oreo junk update - which is super buggy). Perfect player seem to load fine.
A few minutes ago, I tried the APK again, and initial launch, nothing. Refresh (down arrow) on the list this time, worked after trying it twice. Once channel list is loaded, it is not a problem after that..

But I think possibly a delay on the server and it is timing out loading the panel_api.php, since when it fails, my account info does not show the expiry date, so it obviously has not loaded the panel_api.php which contains the info. Not an expert, but this may only affect m3u based users (ok2 apk/perfect player), and not users which are using STB with MAC based authentication.

Tried on 4 different boxes, 3 different brands, same issues.. Other apps like mobdro, redbox, ttv, and livetvnet all work fine.

I have had similar problems today but I do think it is issues with the server, not the apk. I have also been switching between Perfect Player (the new release) and OK2 apk but both are acting flakey

Also like others my playlist updates seem hit or miss. they updated OK earlier this evening - but I only got listings for shows on right now. the "future" area was blank - ie nothing for shows that come on in an hour. Right now the only show in the EPG showing is the Angry Birds Movie on FX HD which runs for another half hour

But currently most shows seem to be running OK now (no stutter) which wasn't the case an hour ago.

On my side I have a "invalid username/password" on many channel. I'm using a M3U for my OK2, with ProgDVB and Kodi. Both program give me invalid username/password on many channel, not all.

For me it's from yesterday... don't know what append.

So as of tonight, I've tried ok2 service on two mag256's and a z7+ (all mac based) and the service is much better then the past couple of days/nights. Portals loaded on the first shot and channels load in 1-2 seconds. All seems back to normal :yeaah:

I am still having issues tonight. Lots of stuttering. Some channels I would be watching and for no reason it would just flip to the channel guide. Issues both with ok2 apk and with Perfect Player apk. My reseller tells me Ok2 are currently working ona server upgrade which may be the difference with some channels fine and others with problems

Has OK2 finished their upgrades? The server is still incredibly slow in the evenings. I know it's not my box or STB EMU because the it works perfectly in the mornings and afternoons. I'm experiencing a lag in EPG display, switching channels, and portal start up.

I got several calls from friends tonight with the same problem. Not connecting or not loading. Nothing to do with isp.
