Toshiba Satellite Laptops have never let me down. I use a regular keyboard and monitor at home and pack it up and take it whenever I travel. Best of both worlds :)

Go to Walmart, they have some good deals on back to school laptops from Dell, but watch out as some are refurbished, you want new.

Or if your a Costco member go there, they have a no question asked return policy.

I find the better laptops with an SSD drive to be some of the fastest boot times you can get, and an SSD drive is more reliable in a laptop as it can take the bumps better.

HP at the moment... I have had IBM Thinkpads/Lenovo (at work) since IBM developed them and never had any major issues. I had a few Dell's as well, but I always found they run a little hot, but that was a few years ago and no major issues encountered.

After issues with HP Pavilion i went to Asus with solid state drive.

Very quick boot up and a lot easier on the budget than many others, as long as you don't need a ton of storage its not a bad choice.

You can get one from Dell with W7 in it,(order through Dell or even Walmart) but they (Microslut) are going to drop support for W7 very soon.

I don't know why they didn't stick with W7, it's been working fine for me for many years, W10 is a pain in the backside.

Terryl i agree with you on Win-10 it is a pain in the backside alright, MS. should support Win-7 longer
Until "ALL" the Bugs etc. are gone from W-10
