Tonight is the Season Premiere of Deadliest Catch Season 6. It begins on a somber note by following Captain Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie. Captain Harris suffered a stroke while at port in Alaska with his two sons. He was 53. His medical problems were well known; in 2008 he had to miss out on the season all together due to medical reasons. It isn’t known to what extent the Discovery Channel has in coverage of the late Captain but they have promised, "..will take viewers through some of the roughest situations the captains and crews have ever had to face on the high seas--from treacherous weather conditions to crew conflict to the death of beloved Captain Phil Harris."

As always Deadliest Catch covers the treacherous journey of several crews as they try to cash in on the King Crab Catch. It is a catch that will profit fishermen millions of dollars while coming with constant challenges and peril. The season captures the 2009 fishing season.

Tonight also has a new Captain entering the fold, Captain Bill Wichrowski of the Kodiak. He is a Pennsylvania native who was asked to join first season but decline. He’s already earned the name “Wild Bill” from producers.

Deadliest Catch 2010 season 6 premieres tonight on the Discovery Channel at 9 pm. Will you be tuning in?

Apart from Capt. Phil, the season opener of Deadliest Catch also features confrontations at Burn Barrel, the introduction of a new boat and sibling rivalries on the Cornelia Marie.

For many fans, though, the show just won't be the same without Capt. Phil.
