Just tried quitting live tv and going into standby and it still freezes after about 5 seconds.

I always select Power Off rather than Standby and never have any problem.

Try menu ,exit

Try menu ,exit

That actually not going to fix things.

There a known memory leak when left in standby which requires a restart to clear.
Likely in the network stack since network speeds are also effected.

This of course depends on the version of android your running as each has their own bugs.

Certainly annoying but not the end of the world.

what do you have auto shut off app set to?I don't think i have it set unless it's set from the manufacture.I guess i could set it up so it's not running when the tv goes off(maybe after 3 or 4 hours). All i know is i hit the button on the remote and it shuts off and i simply just turn it back on at bedtime. But i'm gonna check tonight. My best sleep is when she gets out of bed and not having to turn it off it might make it a better sleep cause i always shut it off when she wakes up.Always fumbling looking for the remote lol.

On rare occasions, my buzz would start to skip/freeze, etc... After a reboot it was fine.

Well, I decided to change the behavior of the power button (Apps->Droid Settings->Powerkey behaviour), so now when I hit the power button, it actually shuts down, not sleep mode. YES it takes an extra 15 seconds to boot the box when I turn it on, but at least, it is not a hit&miss on when I may need to reboot the box when bringing it out of sleep mode. It didn't bother me too much, but the wife was frustrated every time it happened. Ever since I changed that, I haven't had any issues. I think this only affects the boxes running 7.1.. Does not seem to affect the 6.0 boxes.

Don't know what etherent chipset they use in the buzz, but if they are broadcom, it would explain a lot. Broadcoms' drivers for Android 7.x and 8.x are just not there yet. Xiaomi had similar issues with the drivers when they switched to Oreo on the Mii box. Xiaomi takes a huge blame on that one however, since on Oreo it was WAY too unstable, that it should have never been released that soon.

There a ongoing memory leak with the newer version of android they are aware of and working on .

Short fix as mentioned is to just turn the box off and things work normally when it turned back on.
