I was thinking of getting a buzztv 3000 box , I know there are many out there, but I’d like one that should remain compatible for hopefully the foreseeable future.
Do any of these do recording or pause skip back or ahead?
Is the box only controlled by the remote is comes with or can it be controlled with an app on your phone using wireless?
Is there an option of using a rf remote?
The guide? Is there one and how good does it work?
I have 60 megs/service on optical line. There is a limit to the number of gigs I can use in a month. I believe is 450gigs. Would this work well and would I need more gigs for using this?
Really how good is it? Freezing, channels not working, picture quality?
Appreciate any feedback
Thx

most of your questions depend on service you use

And in terms of how many GB you need, it depends on how much you will use it.
With 2 teens on the house (online gaming and youtube), and myself streaming movies on one TV, while wife watches liveTV in the other room, we have had months where we do exceed 900GB (especially during summer months - kids no school, vacation time, etc..). But I have a friends and colleagues who use OK2 and OK3 with teens, and rarely go over 250GB.
I personally don't care about how much I use, since I got an unlimited service, since I know I have peak times during the year, and don't want to constantly worry about that. With VoIP, IPTV, kids gaming, youtube, VOD, and other stuff, it is not difficult to use up a lot of bandwidth.

Adding a keyboard like the Rii i8 will make it easier to enter settings and data. It has a small USB dongle to plug into your android box and communicates via rf from the keyboard to your android box.

The recording capability is weak. Any hiccup in the streaming would stop the recording. To me that is a very important flaw. Other than that the box is OK.
There is a guide, but unless you google it, you will not be able to find it. The guide is nothing out of this world, but it is OK. The amount of gigs you can use in a month depends on the company that provides you with the internet connection. If you exceed the quota you will have to pay extra to your internet provider.
Freezing channels and channels not working are issues related to the guy that provides the subscription. The box has nothing to do with it.
I hope it helps.

Thanks to all that replied, the info is great.
One last detail,
As with most all of these boxes I’m sure if it’s good then someone will make a clone or fake.
To avoid problems like these could someone drop me a pm of a reputable seller in Canada so I don’t end up with a Dud.
Thx
Cheers

Recording does work and the guide depends on your service
