USB 2.0 wireless

Does anyone know the trick to make the USB wireless 802.iin work for the Jynxbox Ultra HD? I used it along time ago, I know it was not great, but there was a trick if I remember to have it connect. I have 99% signal, but it always says something about timeout, and never connects. Maybe there is a updated version of this, or something else I can use?

I used to sell V7 and V10 a while back and I could always get the wireless to connect to the internet, but could not get a connection to server. I wish I had a trick fix back then. I had to start selling mag254's to get rid of the dongles.

I will purchase a power line adaptor or a wifi extender if that is better,Or I have currently a spare Router (D-link) I could set up as a bridge, if someone could help me explain to set that up, or if I should, with my new internet provider. I have a wifi Modem now that came with my new provider, so just not sure how to set up with a wifi modem. Thanks

I figured it out, I just loaded the 251 bin file, that worked, I had like 239. connected right away.

Well 251 loads Epg better, but for wifi connection, it is very poor, can any one agree?

Sorry just jumping in on this, a few questions.

How far away is the WIFI modem?
What type/brand is it?
Does it have an external antenna?
How many walls or floors between it and the WIFI receiver?

Hello Terryl, the modem is wireless, Hitron, cable modem. white cube. jynxbox is in the basement, modem on main floor, I have a spare router d-link I could bridge if I knew how to... if that helped. Ever since I changed bin file, seems to be the main issue, but as mentioned, now i get EPG good.

Ahhh well that type of router is not replaceable with the ampedwireless stuff, so this video may help you out with setting up the D-link as a repeater.

Could I use any USB wifi Adapter with the Ultra HD?

Most USB WIFI adapters for a PC, MAC or laptop need some sort of configuration program and some sort of drivers to set them up.

You could try one and see if the Ultra can see it and if it can setup the IP and WIFI SSID, or another way is to use a computer to setup the USB adapter then you could try it out on the Ultra........Best guess at this end.

if I matched the specs from my old one, such as Modulation, would that better my chances of working the same?
