Guys i just want to share this info: after sevral vérifications, i have found that my box buzztv3000 functions without freezing when using wifi instead of wired . i have always thought that wired connection is better. but i noticed some fullhd channels keep freezing with wired connection, and it stops as soon as i switch to wireless connection(2.4 ghz). i do not want yo use 5 ghz because as i stated in an other thread it blocks the whole box.

i have just done the speedtest and to my surprise:
i get using wired buzztv3000 : about 15 / 58(upload).
using 2.4 ghz on buzz i get about 35/ 40(upload)
but when using 5 ghz i get about about 245/ 56. i am curouis is not supposed that wired connection be much stronger and quicker than wireless? any explication?
knowing that i have internet 400/50.(videotron)
on my phone A5 2017, i get more than280/56.

It's up to the router, some have 10/100 LAN ports, this is 10 Mbps (mega bits per second) to 100 Mbps, and some newer routers can do 10/100/1000 Mbps, some 2.5 GHz WIFI routers will support from 450 to 600 Mbps this also depends on the wireless standard its using. (see 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, or 802.11ac standards)

Some older routers can only do 54 Mbps, and the 5 GHz routers can do up to 1300 Mbps, again it all depends on the standard used by the router.

So if your ISP can supply 400 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up then that would be your limit with a dual band router running an 802.11ac protocol.

It also depends on the internal ethernet protocol used by the receiver, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, or 802.11ac ????

Here is a link explaining the different protocols.

https://www.lifewire.com/wireless-standards-802-11a-802-11b-g-n-and-802-11ac-816553

So if the LAN ports on your router are 10/100 then the WIFI may be faster.

The ethernet port on the Buzz has a maximum theoretical speed support of 100 Mbps. Given how many residential internet connections are now much faster than that, you will have a much higher throughput via Wi-Fi if you have an 802.11AC router, with a throughput of atleast 433 Mbps (even more if it supports multiple spatial streams or 160 Mhz channels).
