Chain gun is belt fed?How did the empty end up in the bullet path???

Never mind:I just watched a mini-gun video that shows a magazine fed model that could eject empty brass into the bullet stream.Possible I guess.There's an image on the net showing 2 projectiles stuck together at 90 degree angles that impacted in flight.That's 1 in a billion.
