Dreeamlink T5 and DpPlus LNB

Can a DpPlus LNB be used with a Dreamlink T5? If it can, do I need to use a power inserter? If it can be used how do I set it up in the menu before I scan in the sats? Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Yes. It will work with a DpPlus. You don't need a power inserter. Set LNB Type to OCS before scanning. Set ports 119W to 1. 110W to 2 and 129W to 3.

Just look out if you run a twin or more than one lnb though. You'll want to add a fan to keep the processors cool.
If you put a small 5 vdc fan inside there is a header inside just for that purpose that switches on and off with the T5.
And more than (or better for long life) 1 lnb such as a twin. Do use a power inserter. On port 1. Just 22 volts dc over coax is what I use to keep everything living happy.

I raise the bottom of the receivers up 1 inch off where they're setting with small wooden bocks on the edges of the receiver. Most are 5yrs old and never had a overheating issue.

no arguments at all. if you can touch the heat sinks and they are too hot to touch. you need a power inserter. and a fan.
btw. you Pull heat away from a heat sink. not blow air across the fins.
linkbox 8000 and the t5 ate turbo modules. i think you're just lucky is all. im not saying what you have to do. i'm suggesting the smart thing to do. the DPP lnb's require many, many times more milliamps than a regular c or ku band lnbf.
besides. that little wall wart has to be baking trying to run 3 lnb's AND your stab motor. you're lucky if you haven't fried the famous capacitors that go all of the time in that wall wart.

Ok Just one further question. I have on of the older DpPlus that only picks up 2 satellites. I see in the Dream Link menu where to set the LNB type to OCS - DP, but what kind of switch is inside these dishes is it an SW21?
