I've been pulling my hair out in making a decision to which hd stb I would finally decide to buy. I thought of waiting for the sonysat but haven't heard anything of it having a blind scan and there having legal issues with iks. I finally decided on the azbox premium hd. I know it doesn't have a blind scan but I'll use my pansat3500 for that. It's an awesome box with dual tuner, dvb-s, dvb-s2, 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 feeds.
Can't wait to start testing it. Initially I was going to pick up the premium plus but have heard about issues and decided just on the premium hd.
I posted here because I know many more members will see it than in the azbox forum.

Good decision costa, i've read on one of your posts, that you almost buy the vantage, it's a good S2 scanner but what would happen when you find a feed that can't be watched (4:2:2) you will be disappointed. So enjoy yours and others feed finds, and for the S2 signals, if the feed is not posted maybe doesn't exist, JMO. Enjoy your new box.

Hi!
I was researching about the azbox hd prm, and it's excellent stb, but i has heared that it can't work like iks so you can't view N3.

I already have many stb doing iks, the hd stb will be strictly for true fta and those hard feeds: dvb-s, dvb-s2. 4:2:0 and 4:2:2.

I'm not 100% sure I understand your question but If I can aim a dish at 110 or 119. Of course, but not the intention for the azbox, I'm going to use it for fta not iks. Furthermore, I've never heard of an azbox being used for iks.

costactc, I have a skill testing question for you [or anybody else that knows the answer]

Does any of the manufactures make a high end PCI card for your computer that would do everything that the azbox does?

I already have a vanilla PCI card for my HTPC but was wondering if there is anything that does all the HD stuff 4:2:0, 4:2:2, blind scan, etc

Or something in a USB model? I do lots of reading but have not noticed anything from the specs I have seen which sometimes can be pretty vague.

TIA

This is an interesting question by timetripper. Is there a PCI CARD for a computer not a receiver that dose it all?
