Can you imagine the damage that thing would cause if it hit one of these new cars? Probably wouldn't even dent the fender on the truck but would about total a new one. Of coarse not much of a worry with rust with newer cars. Mostly plastic/fiberglass so to speak now lol. Father had a 1953 ford mainline and that demon was built like a tank lol.

Would love to have that 1962 ford unibody he had back in the day.

That was the 1st truck I ever owned. Ran it until a piston came out the side of the block. Replaced it with a 49 Chevy 5 window. Wish I still had both of them.

Well going by that video old or new both end up fubar. Maybe I'm biased liking older model cars but the way that 59 comes apart and the flimsy look of the metal makes me wound if it is a kit and or remake of some sort. At any rate 09 or 59 both look to be the looser damage wise and are destine for the auto grave yard. Safety wise though one would fair a lot better in a newer model. Of coarse some older models may have been a little more safer if Tucker had not been shut down by the big three years ago. Going by the movie and if memory serves me he came out with seat belts, padded dash and pop out wind shield. Plus 4 way disk brakes along with a rear engine. Guess he was just ahead of his time and the big three viewed him as a treat so to speak and they shut him down before he got started. But as time ticked by low and behold the big three slowly adopted a lot of his ideas anyway. Been a while since I watched the movie and it is several years old but at the time the movie came out they said out of the 50 cars tucker manufactured think 47 were still road worthy.

Still bare some fading scares on my wrists from a run in with an air bag myself a few years back. Amazing how super fast an airbag will deploy then deflate. Along with how a seat belt will lock and keep you from going forward.
