t5 set up help

so my friend picked up a t5 and trying to get it going.
found the how 2 thread but its not working.


installed the factory file
Dreamlink_T5_0010_0910_factory

did the factory rest then installed
Dreamlink_T5_0106_0217P

but dose not look like its installing, the picture on the tv is too big and when i go check the version it dose not look like it took.

do i have the right files? do i have to factory re set a few times?

hold on might have found it......changed the 1080i to 720 and all looks good for now

ok went back to it got all scanned in went to save the code and it says connected but when you exit out and see the 10 servers it is not saying connected


how are you suppost to save the code?

does it say connected with a number in brackets(1)?
Is server turned on?
to turn the server on you must highlight the server slot and use the right or left arrow

Step 1

Server/ Ip

Next enter your server address or ip address that you were given. (double check that its correct) After you have entered it
correctly get closer to your box so you can see the light on the front of it. Now push the red button 3 times and you
should see the light on the front of your box flash (very lightly) each time you press the red button. Now click exit. Again click exit. Now your back at the server page. Hover over the server you just entered and push the right arrow over the server and did say (OFF) now it should say the ip or address of the info you just put in.

Step 2

PORT

We are going to skip this until last.

Step 3

Username

Type in the user name you were given. When done again push the red button 3X and watch the front of the dreamlink box to
verify that the light flashed for each button push. Now push exit.

Step 4

Password

Type in the password you were given. When done push the red button 3X and verify on the box that the light flashed 3X. Now
push exit.

Step 5

Deskey

Enter your deskey you were given, verify that it is correct. Push the red button again 3X and watch the box to make sure
the light flashed 3 times.

Step 6

Now go back up to the port setting, and enter your port number. When finished push the red button. It should now say saved.

So, now that all your info is in, click exit. It should now tell you that settings were changed and ask you to save again (click yes).

Do not go back into settings or anything like that, we are going to ignore the "connect" button.
Exit all the way out of your settings and back to your main screen. Now shut down the box. when the box is completely shut down, turn off the switch in the back for 3 seconds. Now power back on. to verify that your connected go to network
settings and you should see connection ok 1,2 (or whatever number you put it under).

Those instructions you found are far more complicated than what I have used for years and never had an issue with the method laid out here on this site no pushing any buttons 3 times or looking for any flashing lights.
