Yesterday just before 9 pm we had a power failure.....I stayed up until 1 am hoping that it would come on but no luck....power came back on at 5:30 am.....woke me up and that was the end of my sleep.....Snowed all nite and it dumped around 15-20 centimeters.....temp was around 0 c when it started to snow, so you can imagine the weight of the snow.....Still snowing a bit but slacked off quite a bit but we have a brisk north wind which is blowing snow around and making drifts.
Started to shovel around 8 am.....just turning lite.....shoveled most of the morning off and on (mostly on) and just came in at 11:30 am.....temp currently at -1.2 c.......Fun Times

So just to add to the saga....That evening my pager went off at 9:42 pm. (I'm a volunteer firefighter) It was an accident involving two transports but it was 58 miles East of my town. Highway 11 is shut down as one of the transports jackknifed on highway and other bushed his vehicle to avoiding hitting him. Got back to fire hall around 12:30 am...Washed vehicles and chilled at hall for short while and got home around 1:20 am.
Next morning got up at 8 am and went out shortly after to shovel snow again. If you were paying attention I mentioned in previous post that it was blowing snow all day and that evening. At 11:40 am my pager went off again. Another accident east of town but even further East. This was on 60 miles east. Highway 11 shut down again. This one involved four transports. One critical injury. Back in town at 14:32. After this I went to one of my buddy's to shovel his driveway. I have a couple of homes that I monitor during the winter for friends of mine.
This morning pager went off again at 11:05 am. An old motel that was currently vacant had caught on fire. This was in another town west. They requested the ladder truck to come to assist. Got back to fire hall at 4 pm.
Just living the frigging dream.....lol

Hope I can add to your " Livin The Dream" JDI and you had a plate full didn't you!!
Saga with lil girl and boyfriend ....trouble in teenage paradise...that sucks for me as I have to commiserate!!
Friday night wind picked up and there was snow ...snow you hear ....did I mention snow !!
I looked at the situation and filled up the wood stove, filled the bathtub for toilet flushing water
And went to bed
lil girl was gone on Saturday night and her cat was on my bed making my sleep impossible
The cat wants to sleep on my feet so can't move lol and then when daylight is happening cat is crying for breakfast.
Things are settled with boyfriend ...whewww thankfully. I just want to get her out of grade 12 with me in one piece!!
Looks pathetic compared to yours JDI. I know mine sounds simple but it really is not
I just bare bones it but there are so many pieces to my stuff that I feel overwhelmed a lot of the time.
Life takes many twists and turns and you never know what is around the next corner.
Yep Livin The Dream!!

Nothing about caring for loved ones and sharing in their lives is simple...I have a daughter who is in her early thirties who I am constantly fret about....there are a lot of different dynamics going on her life and while they impact her the greatest they also have an impact on those who love and care for her....Relationships can be complicated at times.....In both of our cases we have to around to pick up the pieces when things go south
The above activities of mine are basically pretty simple....Time is usually the biggest factor....The only time this has a effect on me personally is when there is death or serious injuries involved and also of course if someone loses a home.
