After using the 4500 for awhile, I came across an annoying issue.

After about 3-4 hours, the picture does a slight hesitation every minutes or so. The hesitation is very slight, but
annoying non the less.
The 4500 runs a bit warm, so I put a small desktop case fan under it. I have Mag 254, Buzztv 3000, and Formuler Z8.
None have this issue using the same setup.

Only way to clear the problem is to power the unit down and power back up. Then it's good for awhile again.
How annoying is it? If I don't find a permanent solution, It won't be staying.

You're not alone:I noticed it too.May very well be a heat issue, because the longer it runs, the more frequent it is.If that's the case, supplemental cooling may be in order, but difficult to do based on the design. As yourself, I have 4 other devices:tested all of them in the same internet/provider/signal path, & they don't do it. 3000/3900/T2/stbemu on htpc)
I'm not sure about your situation, but for me it goes from a once a minute or so to a full blown annoyance.Mine is back in the box for now.Don't need it or like it enough to worry about it.

Yes, you are experiencing the same issue as me. As for the heat, I put a desktop case fan under the 4500. It kept it cool and the problem didn't get resolved. Exactly the same. It starts and gets worse until I have to reboot the device.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the response. I've only had it 4 days.

I have the same issue with my XRS4000 and I don't think it is a heat issue. But I read tonight that an update is out so maybe that will fix it.

I only recently set up my 4500xrs, and have not seen this problem but not sure if i have had it on for 3-4 hrs yet. I will leave it on tomorrow, all day, pandora, or live tv and see what happens.

ok, just switched to another HDMI cable. Will report back in 4 hours to see if it made a difference.
As I indicated on another post. Not heat related, as running fan bellow unit.

Ok, changed HDMI cable, no difference.
So, to review
Not the heat, running fan below device
not hdmi cable
Not the IPTV service, have 3 different services on the 4500, all have the glitch
Mag 254, Buzztv 3000 and formuler 8 all run perfect on same internet service, on same tv and same cables
Not operator error..started with 10 ft. sat in mid 1980's
So, to conclude it is definitely the 4500
Already made arrangements to return it

If you want to check your device..unplug and plug in device. Go to CNN. watch the scrolling news for 2-3 minutes, it will scroll smooth.
After 3-4 hours, go back to CNN and watch same scroll. if there is a problem, it will pause within 1 minute or so. This is a quick way to check. If the problem is there, you will notice it watching other channels.

Did you try a factory reset before packing it up? Might have been a worth a shot.

Should be resolved in next beta update which a public update will follow.

Thanks for all replies.
I read on another sites, that this is definitely an issue.
Good to read here that "they" are aware of the problem and an update might fix the problem.
For now, I sent mine back. I'll keep an eye out to see when this has been fixed and give this box another try.

The first unit with the problem was sent back and replaced.
New unit is perfect. I would recommend the 4500 xrs
