First of all I would like to give my thousand Thanks to Speed for spent hours walking me thru step-by-step until I finally got my friend’s CNX Nano2 up and running.
Although I had set up the CNX Nano 2 several times for friends and families, just this particular time at my friend’s house I couldn’t get the IKS to register and all the channels was scrambled. I let it sit for 2 days still scrambled. BTW, I got S&Q at 95% and IP address is established I still get scrambled channels. Somehow CNX and the router are not shaking hand (communicate to one another)
This is when Speed came to my rescued. What we did was to first unplug the modem and router. Then we re-install the 8.06, after the 8.06 was completely install, we reboot the box by turning the box off from the back of the receiver. Then we re-stall the 1.28 and reboot. We then scanned the channels, both 110 & 119. After that we re-established the network by using “Auto”, it quickly picks up the IP address but could not register the IKS. Speed asked me to change the DNS to 208.67.222.222 and DNS2 also to 208.67.222.222 apply and waited for a minute before try to register the IKS again. This time it went thru and registered. Speed asked me to put the channel on 300, within 30 seconds the pictures came on. What I learnt from this lesson is to be patients, allow the network (router) and the box (CNX) to communicate.
