Agreed, but with an f2.8 he can maintain a fast shutter speed while handheld but still would have to be in bright light at full zoom to shoot at 1/500 for a sharp image.

I have a 7" reflective telescope with camera attachment that can be used on land.I can zoom(hand zoom) in on a house on a mountain 7 miles away and see bugs fling around on there front porch and take pictures.

There's no way you could hold that still enough to get a decent pic to get a clear image...
