I quit many times too, unfortunately I'm still at it with the cheap native smokes.

I tried so many times I can't count but emphysema finally got me to quit but now I'm out of breath going up or down the stairs or walking 100 feet so it's a good idea to stop and not as late as I did. But I surely enjoyed it while it lasted.

If you REALLY want to quit,it's easier than you think.The chart at the top of this thread tells the facts.It will be tough for the first 5 days or so.Eat lots of junk.Drink beer.Keep your head & hands busy.In a month, you will be one of those guys that smokers hate.lol

Imo set your mind to it and stop. Tried 20 yrs ago and failed as I set myself up to fail. About seven yrs ago smoked the last one in a pack and just put them down and stopped. Didn't even pickup any other habits to replace it.

1960 till 2013. Started on black cat plain(carton) that the neighbour boy and I scooped from his mom. I was some sick for a few days. Wife had quit around 2010 and the complaining about me still smoking, well you know the show so I just decided I had enough and haven't missed them at all. Wish I had all the money I spent on smokes. They were 30 or 35 cents when I started and I believe they were heading for 10 bucks when I quit. Even switched to the native smokes for a bit. ...50 pounds heavier now.

Nov 2005 , Had my last one the night before I went in for my first back surgery. 7 day later when I got out I just didnt have one . At that point I could remember the last time I went a week without one and decide to see how long I could go . Wife still burns a pack and a half a day and I vape the magical flower now and again .

Me too...a $1.55 in canada when I quit.I think major brands are 14.00 a pack here now.

I feel pretty sad, was way back in 1976 when I quit, I was never a real smoker to begin with, but when my parents started paying for my cigs, of course they bought the ones I hated, Players. Maybe they knew something, I was 17, never had a cig since. Have always hated the smell of them, that has never changed. There was never a craving, at least that I know of. Props to you all that really smoked and were able to put it down. Not easy I am sure. Good job peeps.

pick a day you wanna quit ......... and toss all your tobacco out the night before ...... first morning is hell ..... after a few hours pass you'll be ok ......

I remember smoking those and marlboro when I was 16
had no choice as I was in prison the USA :innocent:
