Toshiba fire tv edition and the remote from the Dreamlink T5

I purchased a Toshiba fire tv edition and the remote from the Dreamlink T5 affects the Toshiba Tv for example if I hit the volume up button on the dreamlink remote the volume mute is triggered on the Toshiba another example is if I hit a number ie "1" it shows up on the tv and the dreamlink

Is there a way to change the remote frequency on the dreamlink??
