Sears once sold homes through their catalog. These kits included everything a home required, including plumbing, heating and wiring. Parts arrived by train to the buyer, who then had to assemble it themselves. Many of the houses still stand today......

It's safe to say there was very little Chinese contents in the Sears inventory in that era.

The old Sears catalog was at least 3 inches thick.

There was a time when it would be hard to imagine life without Sears. :bawl:

Back in the 1970's I was taking a motorcycle mechanics course and one of the students brought in an old Sears motorcycle for us to work on. I think it was from around 1914.

Sears also used to sell cars.

only if they had put the catalog online during the early 90's, they could have been amazon today. truly a missed opportunity
