Small correction, Engine “Air Inlet lip”. It’s “was” attached to the main body of the engine. It uses engine bleed air to heat the surface to prevent icing build up during icing conditions. Just behind the lip is an acoustic strip. It is perforated with holes. It appears to me, that, it failed. I’ve seen many with repairs and patches but never heard of one coming apart like this. Also noticeable is the eng N1 section is windmilling while in flight. Seeing that. I’d say the engine did not grenade, or explode as would be an un contained failure.
It should be an interesting investigation.
Cudos to the crew for an otherwise safe and un eventful recovery.

Another one today:
Two people were injured after pieces of a cargo plane broke off and fell onto a town in the Netherlands, according to authorities there.
Pieces of metal fell on the town of Meerssen after a Boeing 747 cargo plane experienced an engine fire shortly after taking off from Maastricht.
