Hello I just received my diseqc switch 4x1 switch chieta. I was replacing my other switch as it broke. I currently own a viewsat max hd and turned off all the power and went to install the new switch. I hooked up everything properly and powered up the sat box. I noticed after setting everything up I wasn't getting any signal or quality levels. So I tried different ports on the switch and still nothing. So I ran a cable directly from a working lnb to test it without the switch and was only able to get signal working but no quality. So is it possible that I received a bad switch?

Thank you.

sounds like you're not pointed at any sats or lnb's are shot

My lnbs were working last week just before uninstalling the old switch. I moved the dish around and wasn't able to get any quality. But strange I just had the one lnb plugged directly into the sat box and I was getting a signal on both bev birds even though I had just the one plugged in.

Sounds like your not pointed/locked on to the Sat. you want signal from
Re-align your Dish correctly

I have my dish pointed at the right spot. I was using dish pointer website. Which I find strange that I can't hit the sats

hook up direct to an lnb
if you don't get quality you're not pointed at a sat

Locate the sats one at a time bypassing the switch.Go directly to the lnbs, assuming they're legacy. You will of coarse have to flip thr signal cable from one to the other. Then install the switch, & setiings accordingly.

Do you have legacy LNB's or Dish Pro LNB's (newer type)??? Legacy LNB's need a legacy switch,(SW44, or such) dish pro LNB setups (using two DP type LNB's) can use most any Diseqc switch, if your using a DP twin (two LNB's in one) you don't need an external switch but need to set the Diseqc switching.

No signal is your first problem, you should have signal, good signal means your receiver is powering up the LNB, no signal means you have a bad switch / a bad coax cable / bad LNB or your receiver is not sending power to the LNB, check to see you have LNB power on in the receiver setup menu and right LNB setup in the menu.
