you can bet that he had to have SPECIAL permits from the ATF to own many of those machine guns

Not if they have been de-miled....(unable to be fired, or repairable.)

As a benefactor member of the NRA I was invited to go on a cruse with him as the top billing, unfortunately it was out of Florida, with medical problems at the time I could not go, I'm sorry I missed out.

I would bet all of the guns in this collection can be fired.
