front lights , picture went out, unresponsive using the remote, or rebooting from the back. i thought it was power supply and did not do anymore checking. i had an nfusion that would be easier to get going. after time my nfusion started acting up. it then seemed easier to fix a power supply on the sv , than fix what seemed like the hd module on the nfusion. thats when i confirmed that the power supply is good. so i not sure what is wrong at this point. could the main board be dead, or is it just a componet that can be fixed or replaced. thanks

Could power off by the back switch. Then while holding down the OK or menu button on the front of the stb power back on via the back switch. If you see load usb show on the display you maybe able to force load a file. May work may not your call.

sounds like static electricity to me.

i think you are right. the vacuum head is plastic, so the charge must of come from particules in the air. i would not have thought they could have created enough charge to kill the main board. lesson...

i just got ahold of him like two weeks ago to rebuild my power supply. i never sent it out bc it turn out to not be the problem. i am still thinking about sending it to him tho. he does really good work and have had many PS rebuilt by him and cant even count how many A1 boards lol

Same here as well, I even got a SV8000 with a Built-in Lan-Port (no dongle needed)

had two of them boxes before. not to hard to build. can put a lot of time and money in one of those boxes.

I think I bought his last refurbished SV 8000 HD a few Christmas's ago...and an extra PS & 8PSK board .,..couldn't find a good original remote ...went with ROC MULTI-SAT V2 remote ,works good...,.my problem now is dish out of alignment ...I'm too old to climb atop my warehouse to fix...I'm happy with Buzz 3900 & wicked IPTV instead....
