And the Rhodium ad Palladium as well.Big problem around my parts.A local was caught by police with 14 in his car.He will get about 200 a piece for them.That's one nights work.I don't understand why the scrap yards would take 14 cats from a guy driving an old pos without questioning their origin.Seems the problem is twofold.

I saw a YouTube video last week about some lowlife scum that was found crushed to death underneath a Prius he attempted to steal cat from....It warmed my heart....if you've ever had it happen to you you'll understand the sentiment.... Someone sawed the cats off my '08 F150 à few years back....still dealing with it ....:grr:

It is against the law to remove a converter so hopefully your buddy is adding new ones and sell the old ones.

P0420 catalytic efficiency code is common on mature vehicles.The cure is generally cat replacement, & they sell themselves in a time that people are keeping their cars longer.

A muffler shop can install mufflers and pipe if catalytic converter is already off without adding new catalytic converters.By law they can't remove catalytic converter without adding new catalytic converter.

Never checked around here at inspection.Any vehicle over 30 years old doesn't need inspections.
