I work on small engines and getting ready to start on a honda 4 wheeler that the owner says after it warms up you drive it then it shuts off but starts right back up then dies again about 100 yards.Which makes me think it may not be a crab problem. While I have it I will change oil and filter and put on a shift angle sensor to hopefully fix another problem.I hoping some of you 4 wheelers knows what is shut this motor off.

Sounds fuel related.Check fuel strainer/filter as well as the fuel cap vent

Maybe a bad ignition switch??? Try starting it then pound on the ignition switch. (gently, and not with a hammer) And also check the kill switch the same way.

Going to check the crab out to rule it out.

Sounds like the brass fuel filter needs cleaning, it's in the fuel cut off valve at the fuel tank, you need a 10mm wrench to get it off.

Sounds electrical to me... Something warming up
and cutting out. Let us know what it finally is.

I went through the same problems with a 2004 Kawasaki. To make a long story short, this machine spent a lot of time sitting with regular gasoline in it (ethanol) which caused a build up in the fuel line in the gas tank. I cut an 18 inch section of 1/4" cable and put it into a drill to bore through the gas tube and clear it out. Its best to use recreational vehicle fuel (unleaded) in 4 wheelers, tractors, lawn mowers etc to avoid this problem.

All is good the 4 wheel doesn't have a shift angle sensor but does have a bank angle sensor which shuts off air or fuel inside carb if it thinks 4 wheel is tipping over. The D for drive and the R for reverse wasn't showing on dash but forward and reverse were working the problem was the electronics is in the hand shaft lever which I replaced and did the regular service.
