Buzztv5
To clarify why Buzztv5 has not been released yet is because the application has been rewritten from the beginning. It’s basically entirely new. If Buzztv5 was rolled out to all Android 9 from day one we guarantee comments from some users would have been why release Buzztv 5 on all Android 9 if it’s not stable.
Buzztv5 is not just about coding a new application, it involves testing, trial and error, design work for every menu, developer approval.
One of the biggest challenges is there are so many servers that change their own configuration that can cause it to break the way it works on Buzztv5 for them, so Buzztv dedicate a lot of time helping server owners to get it working or make adjustments to make it work on application side. Having saying this, risk is even bigger on Buzztv side as it means it could break other servers, that is very time consuming.
We all want Buzztv5 and let’s remember this, support continues on all Android 9. Other manufacturers have left behind majority of their models behind on application upgrade and we are not.
Good news is Buzztv will release 5 before the end of the year as ‘public beta’, meaning we still require feedback.
It’s been a long road we know but buzztv 5 will launch.

I am looking forward to the new release . Buzz never fails to deliver . Kudos to a strong software team and a great piece of hardware.
Never had a failed unit hardware wise except for the remote that the dog was eating.
As all things software related, some bugs may develop but as always will be resolved in time.

Yeah, I purchased a new maybe #10 U5 Buzz TV and it still won't connect. So I think this new coming out will be great!
Yeah I went through Tech Support who said nothing was wrong with it, but they sent me a new one just to be sure. I can't get anyone to help me, it's ruining my business. It's like 20-people are looking to see what happens to this particular BuzzTV Box and since no one cares, I'm going to lose my business!

God Bless BuzzTV 5!

This has to be a joke!!!!

As pointed out:
U5 issues on 4900 thread...
Resurrection a 2yr old thread

And when you say 20 people looking at the outcome, they are boxes you sold to customer ? How do you actually sell something before you even test it yourself ?

U5 runs Android 11 and as far as I recall, all Android 11 boxes came with BuzzTV5 by default. 4900 runs on Android 9, and yes most boxes on Android 9 started with BuzzTV4, but has been many years since Android 9 boxes have had BuzzTV5 (and running now nearly/exact same versions as their Android 11 cousins).

You say it can't connect.. Have you tried different servers ? MAC/XC/M3U What type of error do you get ? For MAC, are you sure you are using tjhe DEVICE ID in the tp right of the MAC server screen, and NOT the ACTUAL MAC of the box ?

If you are still having problems, I would recommend starting a new thread in the "proper" section of this forum, since your issue is NOT related to a 4900 which this section is for.
