In March 2021, the Suez Canal was blocked for six days after the grounding of Ever Given, a 20,000 TEU container ship.[3] The 400-metre-long (1,300 ft) vessel was buffeted by strong winds on the morning of 23 March, and ended up wedged across the waterway with its bow and stern stuck in the canal banks, blocking all traffic until it could be freed.
banks/mud still dirt. same same. lol

yep, the names are on the front
ever given - suez
ever ace - post
I HATE to see all that import ... I would rather be manufacturing right here at home
With the recent rise in employee pay , coupled with robotics we might be able to justify production costs and turn things around
PLENTY of immigration from the 1950's and up , worked and raised their families on an honest days work

I 100% agree, we used to make nearly everything right here at home with a lot less government hand outs.

That was before China realized that they could churn out a bunch of cheap stuff that us westerners will run out to Walmart and buy making them quickly the second richest country in the world and on their way to number one.
Quality doesn't count anymore - we want cheap and disposable. Sears is gone - dollar stores are multiplying....

and when walmart first opened they said the majority of products would be from north america
Wal-Mart's founder Sam Walton started the company as a "Buy American" retailer some 50 years ago but it turned away from that strategy in the name of offering cheaper prices.

Is it China, or the CEO's of the corporations to blame?

It's deeper than that.Capitalism has ruined the country:China is the weapon. We live on a continent that is addicted to profit. It doesn't matter how much corporations make, it is never enough. The union environment makes it difficult to maximize profits, so along comes China, presenting them with the ultimate opportunity:make junk for cheap that doesn't last so people have to keep buying the junk over and over. Before you know it, North America makes nothing but Big Macs, cars without processors, & trade deficit. Then China owns our souls.
We did it to ourselves.
