Buzztv 4900 Mac Server Error: (username/password)

I purchased a buzztv 4900 and IPtv service. I sent the service my MAC address. I entered the URL given to me from my subscription service on my buzz box for Mac Server.

After connection and handshake, I keep getting an error message, “Cannot load portal: Incorrect user name or password”

Does anyone know how to fix this please?

I’m new to IPtv so it must be something someone of your knowledge would possible overlook. I dunno

Plus contact your seller and tell him message you are getting

I don’t think I should post a pic revealing the server url buddy. Plus he is a good guy. Just having a hard time understanding this buzztv guy

Sounds like DU is correct to me.The providers server shouldn't ask for user/pass with a mac account.

I gave my Mac ID to my subscriber, but no I did not enter that into server. I don’t know how.

when you're in server settings the mac is in top right hand corner listed as server id

Obviously one cannot simply purchase a $200.00 buzztv and then purchase a subscription service to get IPtv.
Obviously one has to have more than money to obtain this service.
Back 15 years ago they used to make step by step guides.

I didn’t know there is a difference. But that’s what I asked before so maybe it bares asking again, if I made a mistake giving the wrong MAC address, would that cause this username/password issue? Thanks for any help friend

you find both m3u and mac based here look in the archives for m3u`s

one should understand the difference between a m3u and a mac based service
the m3u uses the username/password format the mac based uses the mac format
00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX THE X`s are specific to you subscription.

sounds like theres confusion between the mac on the buzz box app and the mac for the iptv service

also why would the box ask for the username/password if your using a mac service maybe the wrong setting

Mac is not a part of the url.The mac is identified by the server in the devices software.The url should only contain server specific info.Did you try the link I posted?

ok i see that answers a few things for me personally i dont think i would use the app
for what i do but i see why they would do it that way yes hobby should know that there are other apps he can use if he doesnt already know...

Agreed...but if you want to mac clone, you can that way.stbemu might be the worse gui of all.

Okay,
The problem was a mistake in the MAC address. If you give an incorrect MAC Address you may experience the username/password error. :thumbsup:
