For about a month now I’ve been trying to locate and fix an issue with 2 channels. Most everything else is rock solid.
The two problem stations are Calgary HD CTV & Calgary HD Global. They appear as ch 900 & ch 899 respectively. If you have a fta recievers you may see them in your guide as 2900 & 2899 respectively.
In my guide i also see them at ch 1502 and 1131& 1132 . It doesn’t matter which channel I try they all either work fine or freeze (usually through the evening)
Things run smooth through the day but usually after 7pm MST the freezing starts and goes on until after 12 pm MST.
Signal is very strong and there are two subbed recievers also being fed from the same dish and multi-switch. The subbed boxes experience no problems ever. It doesn’t appear to be a signal related issue.
Asking if others see freezing on those channels in the evening. It only takes a half a min and you should see a freeze. Usually 7pm mst onward.

What Rec./Box are you using, and how is it hooked up (LNB's, switches, HDMI, Component, etc.)
Who are you with Provider/service etc. can make a difference ?

Thx for the reply auggie,
I’ll try and steer the replies toward either freezing or working great.
At the time of writing this I just checked and it’s working great.
The real focus is the control words. They go absent or too long. Picture freezes. Generally when there are problems the control words come through fast every minute or so. Other channels are rock solid. Fast channel changes and no freezing.
It’s nothing related to signal or HDMI.
There are two other subbed receivers that run flawlessly, it’s fed through dpp+ quad to dpp+ sw44 power inserter.
I believe the source of all north iks here is the same so posting the seller doesn’t help.
If other replies come through saying that all is working fine at the time mine isn’t it’ll help me locate the issue.
I thought maybe I was somehow being blocked by isp so I have used cell phone with hotspot to computer and had the same results.
This ones a b*tch!

What Receiver/Box is acting up DL-T5, SV8000HD, etc. ? Some of The FTA Receivers don't Play Nice
with those Power Hungry dpp+ quad Setups. Anyways those channels you are having a issue with are fine
On my end with a DL-T5 and Legacy equipment (LNB's, switch,)

issue is he is a provider ird = sidless requests
and it will try any card it likes, ignores any mapping
when that channel is only on a few cards, if no one on it already his box has to search threw the cards till finds a hit = to long = freezing or failed return

After all these years, has anyone found a way to overcome the sidless mapping issue on provider IRDs running IKS?
Provider IRDs (especially the dual tuner HD DVR) are significantly better than any FTA run IKS, but with the sidless related freezing mentioned in this thread...it's all for nothing.

WITH all the sidless related related freezing, the o.e. irds' are NOT as good from that point of view.I have run both ird & stb...stb outperforms from a stability point of view.Sorry for the thread jack.
