I look at kids the same age as the one in the story that have smart phones attached to them, I 'm sure that wouldn't have the same effect.The world has changed so much...and not ALL changes are for the best.I can say first hand that growing up poor wasn't a terrible thing at all, although it seemed like it at the time.It taught us MANY respects, especially the one for money.It also taught us that money wasn't everything!
