Well after 7 years it looks like my open box X5 has gone South for the summer.
This morning got up to see a red flashing LED on it, no picture, no control from the remote, checked the batteries in the remote but changed them anyway, no control from the front panel, cycling the front on/off switch does nothing, .
It's been unplugged from the wall for about 2 hrs, if it doesn't recover after a full power down then it's off to the test lab for some looking around for internal problems.(bad caps maybe??)
Anyone know where I can get a schematic for this hummer???
It's been a very nice box, but right now it's not in the budget for a replacement.

I found this: hxxps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Llqz5Qxov3Y
How to recover a Dead open box X5, don't know if it will help, but might be worth a LOOK

Thanks Auggie, but it looks to be the power supply, as the display is dead nothing showing on it, after a look in the lab, I found some bad cap's on the power supply PCB, getting out the de-soldering equipment and rounding up some part's, (good thing I have a large part supply) looks like a job for after lunch, I think better on a full stomach.

Here's what I found, see the two large caps just to the left of the two diodes in the photo, they are bulged up on top,(sorry best shot I could do) that's a sign of them going bad on the inside. Got the parts, now for lunch.

Yah big caps, one is a 1000 mFd and the other is a 470 mFd, both 35 volts, I have a new 470 but will have to pull the 1000 off an old power supply, I have a cap tester so will be able to see whats the rating on the bad ones. (and the one I pull off the old power supply)
Funny I thought I had 10 of the 1000's in the cap drawer but cant find them, still looking through never never land #3, I don't remember using them on any projects around here.....But my memory is getting awfully rusty right now.
You think those are big, you should see the ones in the 12 volt 100 amp analog power supply I have in the garage, their as big as a beer can..

SUCCESS......I replaced 3 caps, two 470's (one extra as a precaution) and the 1000, the 1000 was also bulged out at the bottom.
Now for a beer.
Oh the caps on that really big power supply were a bit bigger then a beer can.

Well thats OK if I view it on my phone, but when I transfer it to my PC to upload it or do some photo editing it comes out upside down or sideways.

Your photo editing Program should be able to do it up anyway you like etc.

Glad to know you got it working again, do you have it with the AlphaBox software? With that SW you have the PV and T@ndb3rg function

Sorry just saw this, no it's stock software, just watch the NASA channel on 127W for now, my actuator went south* and I have no direct control over the dish motor, have to go move it manually.
*woke up on day and found it was turned all the way due West, had no control after that.
