Last Saturday we lost power at 6:00am -- came back at 9:00PM
15 hours no power,,, Utility company said they were making changes
to equipment to better serve the community from overloading grid --
maybe everyone was charging their Teslas' at the same time

if you folks have frequent power outages and require a back up source you might want to explore a Fuel-less gen set, have a family member that has one, i have no idea what they cost or how big of a load they will carry, probably depends on what you want to spend

The only fuel-less generator I know of is a unit that is basically a battery/inverter module that is limited by the battery capacity. There is also the hydrogen fuel cells which I believe are still quite costly.
Currently I think you can't beat a conventional gas or propane generator for times when you need it to run for an indefinite time. (until we have a portable fusion reactor)

I have several power sources when I loose the main power, one is a dual fule generator, but the cost of fuel now days makes that a last resort.
All my internet stuff uses 12 volts as a power...

I put up a small wind generator several years back to charge a couple deep cycle batteries but the wind in my area usually wasn't strong enough and I didn't want the expense of a taller tower.
